this album was made over the course of three years. it was a long way of intense engagement with the music, beginning with the very first jam sessions, over to additional studio recordings to the final audio mastering. at the end of this process, nine songs were chosen reflecting the diversity of the collected material in a concentrated way.
the following explanation of the method of production helps explain christian staudacher’s and daniel bemberger’s musical approach:
the basis were the live recordings of the jam sessions. To these passages which were often developed by chance, new layers were stacked, thus strengthening or even intentionally breaking certain musical themes and aspects of the source material. most of the time, the instruments were the guitar, looped through long chains of sound effects, feedings from laptop and sampler as well as various recordings.
in spite of this rather „krautrock“ kind of working method, the tracks still show quite song-like structures: traces of choruses, bridges and verses, up to the “common” duration of approximately 4 minutes per song. this all helps to draw a musical bow which distinguishes this music from endless postrock- and electronica jams, regardless of country of last things still feeling connected to that sound aesthetics.
until a few years ago, christian staudacher was singer and guitar player of the band parabol (album: “sorry satellite” / schönwetter records, 2005) with whom he – for example – opened for nick cave and the bad seeds, had rotations on local radio and tv and received several reviews in various magazines and newspapers. more recently Christian gained experience as music producer and sound engineer.
daniel bemberger has been and still is working as dj and producer of electronic music under the pseudonym of dB. he released several eps through various german record labels, attracting the interest of international music press (wire, spex, raveline, de bug). as a result, he has played in france, germany, the netherlands, and poland.
